  • Day 01: Nairobi

    Arrive into Jomo Kenyatta International on day one of your Kenya family Safari. You are met and transferred to your hotel for check – in. This afternoon visit the Karen Blixen Museum and the Giraffe Center. The museum, was once part of Karen Blixen’s vast coffee estate. ‘Mbogani’ was Karen’s home from 1917 until 1931, and made famous by the film ‘Out of Africa’. You get a feel of what the typical colonial life was in Kenya at the turn of the twentieth century including many of Karen’s original belongings, and replicas replace items that have been lost over the years. Giraffe Center is the headquarters for the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife. Giraffe Manor was founded in 1983 as a sanctuary for the then endangered Rothschild giraffe. The breeding program has been a huge success and you can watch these gentle giants at eye level from a raised platform. Undoubtedly Kenya’s most famous hotel – and certainly its oldest – Norfolk hotel has been attracting the rich and famous since they first opened on Christmas Day 1904. In many respects, t Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city grew up around the hotel, which occupies a central but quiet location opposite the National Theater.
  • Day 02: Sweetwaters Game Reserve

    Depart for Sweetwaters Game Reserve, after breakfast. The closest reserve to Nairobi (about2.5 hours drive). Sweetwaters is home to all the big five game, and boasts of the highest ratio of game-to-area of any park or reserve in Kenya. You will have a chance to go on an afternoon game drive and visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Additional activities (at extra cost) are camel riding, horse riding and nature walks. Dinner and Overnight stay at Sweetwaters Tented Camp.
  • Day 03: Lewa Downs Private Reserve

    Drive to Lewa Safari Camp, your home for two nights. Lewa Safari Camp is located on the expansive 45,000 acre of the privately owned Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Lewa Downs. This amazing conservancy, was formerly a working cattle ranch and otherwise known as Lewa Downs, it has been in the Craig family since 1924.Wildlife densities is incredibly as high as anywhere in Africa, making it possible to see all of Africa’s Big Five on Lewa, and the conservancy provides a refuge for several endangered species.Overnight Stay at Lewa Safari Camp.
  • Day 04: Lewa Downs Private Reserve

    Some of the activities offered at Lewa Safari Camp include day and night game drives in search of rhino and other wildlife, guided walks, and visits to pre-historic sites. Cultural interactions to visit the II’Nguesi, Ndorobo and Samburu people; horseback riding and camel riding are available at an extra cost.   • Day 05: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

    A short drive takes you to the airstrip to board a scheduled flight to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. On arrival, you will be met at the Ol Kiombo Airstrip by your safari guide and transferred the short distance to the Mara Intrepids Camp, your home for the next three nights. Intrepids is a delightful camp set in one of Kenya’s prime wildlife-viewing areas. Mara Intrepid Adventurers’ Club is a draw card for families travelling with children – This a club specifically for children between the ages of 4-12.In the company of highly trained naturalists and cultural specialists, children are treated to an enlightening series of walks, talks, games and activities, designed to help them better understand their wild surroundings. After checking in, there’s time to freshen up before taking lunch. This afternoon take your first game drive in the Maasai Mara in search of its famous inhabitants. Overnight stay at Mara Intrepids Club.
  • Day 06: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

    An exciting day to enjoy the sights and sounds of Maasai Mara on your early morning and late afternoon game viewing drives. Maasai Mara plays host to the most spectacular array of wildlife. Mara boasts kilometers of open savannah, woodlands and tree-lined rivers creating an eco-system that supports huge numbers of bird and mammal species. The spectacular Siria Escarpment is found on the western border of the park, and together with the acacia dotted plains, creates scenery of stunning beauty.   • Day 07: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

    Another full day to enjoy the splendors of the Maasai Mara. You have an option to take a balloon safari or visit to Rusinga or Mfangano Island on Lake Victoria (at an extra cost). The afternoon is free for a game viewing drive and/or other activity in the Mara whether or not you take the optional adventure. Dinner and Overnight stay at Mara Intrepids Club.
  • Day 08: Nairobi – Depart

    On your last day of your Kenya family safari, you have an opportunity to enjoy an early morning game drive and breakfast before your transfer to Masai Mara Airstrip to board your scheduled flight to Wilson Airport. Met on arrival and transferred to Norfolk Hotel where you can relax in your day room. Enjoy lunch and dinner before your transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Norfolk Hotel – Day room Note: Lewa area may be closed over the low season (dictated by bookings) but Samburu would be a suitable alternative.
